A few more sneak peeks from Katie & Talbot’s reception and a bit about the wedding day from the couple…
Who proposed to who and how?
Talbot: Talbot proposed to Katie after a steep hike down to a lake in the middle of a volcanic crater on an island off the coast of Portugal.
Katie: I cried and then said, yes!
How does it feel different being married?
Talbot: Ask me when she becomes Katie Beck.
Katie: There is definitely something very cool in “forever.”
How did you choose Rockwood Park as your wedding venue?
Talbot: Proximity to home for our families and a beautiful, natural feel.
Katie: We wanted our celebration to be outdoors (at least partially) and have an opportunity for our guests to enjoy some Wilmington summer scenery.
Tell us about your dress.
Talbot: Perfect. So complimentary of Katie’s figure and style.
Katie: It was hard to pick just one dress! I liked how my dress was comfortable and easy to dance in. My guests commented on how the dress sparkled in the sun while we were saying our vows.
What was the one thing you were most stressed about before the wedding and how did it turn out?
Talbot: I really wasn’t, I’m glad I didn’t cry at the altar though.
Katie: Making sure our guests had fun and that things were easy for them. It turned out great! Everyone had a blast dancing and being together.
Tell us about your cake and/or dessert.
Talbot: Looked great but I didn’t taste it. The guests seemed to like it though.
Katie: I think I ate about 5 pieces AFTER the weddingIt was delicious with a mocha filling.
Tell us about your decor, flowers, etc.
Talbot: The flowers were awesome. Succulents everywhere.
Katie: Our vision came together by the incredible Bonnie Beck. My mother-in-law has a great sense of style and she also happens to be a florist. We wanted things to be very natural and easy-going. Bonnie brought that to life with gorgeous succulent arrangements in wooden planters. When I saw room and the arrangements on the tables I was overwhelmed by how beautiful it was.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Talbot: Seeing Katie in her dress and our first dance!
Katie: There is no way I could choose just one! I loved the moment after we were married before we walked in for our first dance – and then…the first dance!
What’s next for the two of you?
Talbot: About 6 more weddings in the next 5 months. And hopefully the opportunity to settle peacefully into the rest of our lives.
Katie: Getting back into the swing of things. Hopefully a few more travel adventures! There are so many places we want to go.
