Gina & Ryan were most looking forward to enjoying the company of their friends and family on their wedding day and their ceremony and reception were romantic and beautiful just as they had planned. A few photos from the ceremony are below, and more from the reception are coming shortly. Enjoy!
About the couple:
Ryan and Gina met in middle school. They lost touch when they went to different high schools, but had mutual friends. Throughout the years they would run into each other at parties or out at a bar. In May 2011 they bumped into each other at the Deer Park Tavern and Ryan asked for Gina’s phone number. After a few dates, on July 3, 2011 it became official when Ryan asked Gina to be his girlfriend.
Who proposed and how?
Gina: Ryan proposed to me on my 28th birthday in New Orleans. I had really wanted to celebrate my birthday in one of my favorite cities, and he had never been there before. He knows how much I love celebrating my birthday, and I was so excited about going to New Orleans, that he decided it would be the perfect time to ask me to marry him.
Tell us about your dress/attire/shoes/accessories:
Gina: My dress is an Allure dress. I wanted a dress that was very embellished on top, and then had more of a plain bottom. I never imagined I would end up in a ballgown, but I absolutely loved it once I put it on. The shoes are like a glittery light gold Tom’s. I have never been someone who likes to wear heels, and Tom’s are my favorite shoes. I just wanted to be comfortable. Ryan is wearing a Vera Wang suit from Jos. A. Banks.
When did you know you wanted to marry Ryan?
Gina: I honestly don’t know if there was one specific moment when I realized I wanted to marry Ryan. Within the first year it became clear to me that I wanted to be his wife, because I loved doing everything with him. I also loved his family and friends and everything just felt right and I could picture a long future together.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Gina: My favorite part of the wedding day was the marriage ceremony. I was so nervous walking down the aisle, but once I got up to the altar I relaxed and was able to really enjoy the moment.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding and why?
Just knowing the end result of all the planning was going to be getting to marry Ryan and have a wonderful day with everyone we love most.
