Ryland Inn wedding portraits and preparations – Brittany & John|Whitehouse Station, NJ

Our final post from Brittany & John’s wedding includes a few portraits, getting ready photos and some “not-so-formal” group photos. (FYI for future couples – yes, I always do formal groupings at weddings, but then we have a little fun for a photo or two.) And we also have some wedding planning advice and thoughts on the wedding day from Brittany & John. Enjoy!

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Brittany: Having fun on the dance floor with all of my family and closest friends. It’s probably one of the very few times in my life I’ll be surrounded by all of the people I love at the same time… and witness them singing to Spice Girls.
John: Seeing Brittany for the first time walking down the aisle is a moment I’ll never forget.

How does it feel different being married?
Brittany: It feels great, although I’m still getting used to referring to John as my “husband”!
John: I feel like there’s a sense of maturity I didn’t feel before.

When was the moment you knew you wanted to marry John?
Brittany: John and I clicked early on in our relationship and I always knew it was something special. Our time spent together and living a great distance apart over the years proved to me that I really could not be with anyone else.

When was the moment you knew you wanted to marry Brittany?
John: Coming back from studying abroad in Italy to attend Brittany’s formal.

Now that you’re married, and you’ve been through planning a wedding together, what advice would you give to other couples who are just starting the wedding planning process?
Brittany: Have fun with the wedding planning and delay your honeymoon, if you can! You are so busy planning your wedding that it’s nice to wait so you can put all of your time and energy into planning your special vacation afterwards. We took a few days after the wedding to relax and now we have something else to look forward to enjoying together! It also extends your wedding day bliss in a way, too!
John: Details matter, plan ahead, talk to everyone, and save 10 minutes for your new wife and your food. It will be the most significant day in your life and it will fly by in an instant, so make the photos count!

What’s next for the two of you?
Brittany: Continue to explore and enjoy the city of San Francisco while planning our honeymoon! (And convince John that our apartment is too small for a bulldog.)
John: Honeymoon in Thailand? Greece? Find a house?
