It’s always an honor to receive emails from friends and family members of former couples inquiring about their wedding date. I had a blast documenting Brittany’s moves on the dance floor at the wedding of her sister, Morgan, at The Park Savoy in 2012, and was looking forward to working with their family again. I should have known that John’s family would be equally as awesome!
Today we have photos from their ceremony, officiated beautifully by John’s uncle Scott Masters, at the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield, New Jersey. But be sure to check back here over the next few days for some gorgeous portraits and photos from the reception!
I absolutely love this photo of Brittany waiting in the Rolls Royce before heading into her wedding ceremony…
Brittany and John chose to see each other for the first time at their ceremony…
The Crescent Avenue Presbyterian church, with the gothic architecture, beautiful stained glass windows and tiled 100-foot center aisle, was a perfect setting for the ceremony. The church also has an elaborate pipe organ made up of more than 5,000 pipes.
A little bit about the couple from Brittany
Brittany and John both grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, but little did they know their future spouses lived five minutes away.
John attended the Wardlaw Hartridge School while Brittany attended Scotch Plains High School. It was during their high school years that they first met through a mutual friend and neighbor. John often spent time with friends at highland Swim Club, where Brittany was a lifeguard, but he never attempted the infamous Sandlot fake drowning scene.
It wasn’t until Brittany headed off to Miami University in 2007 when the couple really got to know each other. John, two years older and also a student at Miami University, offered to take her out to lunch and show her around campus during her first week.
After a few years of distance, fate brought these two back together and they now reside in San Francisco, California. John works at Uber and Brittany works at Earthbound Farm. They enjoy living life to the fullest and rarely do you find this couple sitting on the couch.
And the happy couple…
I have no idea what the dads were laughing about after the ceremony, just inside the church doors, but I love the moment…
The bridesmaids doing a fabulous job of keeping Brittany’s Pronovias dress dry on the way out of church. And John rocking his Beckett and Robb suit…
A quiet moment amidst the chaos before heading to the reception at The Ryland Inn…
